DSI Thursday Book Nook

You asked and DSI listened. DSI is starting a book club where all books will be available on the Bard app supported by the National Braille and Talking Book Library.

When Val Rios posted to Facebook that she was interested in learning about any book clubs where the books were guaranteed to be on Bard there was an immediate positive response. Rob Schulenburg and Cory Walker quickly contacted Val to get her input on what the perfect book club would look like for the blind and we think that together we've come up with something special.

Come join moderators Cory Walker and Val Rios as we host our first Thursday Book Nook on Thursday, March 25th at 4 pm PST/7 pm EST. We are forming a Book Nook Group on Facebook where we'll be sharing information about upcoming books and links to join us on Zoom. Look for us soon on Goodreads also!

Our first book will be The Chain by Adrian McKinty: Your phone rings, your child is kidnapped, you must make an impossible choice to become an accomplice for a more intricate crime or pay the price. Join DSI's Thursday Book Nook as we ride along on this face-paced journey of impossible decisions and unforgiving deadlines.

Regional Roundtable Initiative
Africa/Middle East

DSI is holding its first Regional Roundtable for groups and individuals working with the disabled in Africa and the Middle East.  The Regional Roundtable initiative was created to give a forum for conversations about successes and challenges in the disabled communities in the region. Help us get the conversation started on February 11!

This program was started because people working with people with disabilities have great ideas that are worth sharing. You may have a need where you live that someone else might have a solution for. Resources and program designs that work in one area might help another.  Help us build a greater community by asking questions and problem solving together.

Email info@dsi.ngo for information about logging in to this Zoom conference.
